In the historic center of Cividale, a stunning early 20th-century residence with a garden.
On the ground floor, we find a wonderful foyer, a dining room, another large room overlooking the garden, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, and an internal courtyard. We then ascend to the main floor, where we find another kitchen, an adjacent dining room, a living room, a large study/library, and a second bathroom. Upstairs, there is a large sleeping area with four bedrooms and a hallway, a walk-in closet, and two more bathrooms.
The house was renovated in the 1980s, maintaining all the original finishes where possible.
The building was constructed in 1914. Both inside and out, it reflects various architectural styles that hark back to the Middle Ages and the history of Cividale. The façade itself features ashlar masonry, Gothic-style windows decorated with artistic brickwork reminiscent of the skein designs typical of the Lombard world. The architraves supporting a small extension of the upper floor, as was customary in medieval houses, are molded and end in a serpentine decoration. The terrace is supported by a series of small brick arches reminiscent of the 15th-century construction of the Devil's Bridge. Upon entering, large stairs lead to the upper floor, which is entirely decorated with arches reminiscent of those of the Lombard Temple. The ceiling is coffered, and the walls of the fireplace room are painted in the style of Udine's town hall.
